Windows XP 64bit

Λογω καποιων αναβαθμισεων σε athlon 64 και επειδη το συστημα μου θα γινει ενας μικρος server αξιζουν να βαλω τα νεα windows?εχω βρει drivers για καρτες γραφικών αλλα υπαρχουν για μητρικες για SLI..... και γενικοτερα θα παιζουν τα περισσοτερα win32 προγραμματα(κυριως τα γνωστα παιχνιδια L2,cs:source :070: κλπ)Αλλιως να περιμένω για Longhorn?Τι να κάνω ?Ευχαριστώ.

Γενικα ειναι πιο γρηγορα τα 64μπιτα ακομα και σε 32bit εφαρμογες. Και στο θεμα οδηγων δε νομιζω να εχεις προβλημα. Εγω εχω βρει για το συστημα μου οδηγους για καρτα γραφικων chipset audio κλπ.

μπορεις να μου πεις ποσο βγαζεις στο 3dmark 05??επισης αν παιζεις καποια παιχνιδια(cs:source πχ) πες αν μπορεις τα average fps...

Πάντως έαν σκέφτεσαι για τα Longhorn, θα αργήσουν ακόμα κάμποσο.

δεν είναι τόσο όμορφα τα πράγματα.....
καταρχήν καλύτερες επιδόσεις μην περιμένεις (μάλλον το αντίθετο!) - προς το παρόν τουλάχιστον
drivers υπάρχουν ελάχιστοι και πολλοί είναι ακόμα beta (πχ nf4, sb audigy 2 κλπ)
το SLI πχ δεν βλέπω να παίζει στα 64αρια...

1. Τα Longhorn τέλος 2007 και αν.

2. Μια χαρά είναι οι drivers για x64. Ίσως για κάποια TV tuners - WDM capture devices να δυσκολευτείς. Για τα υπόλοιπα, όλα αψογότατα.

όταν λες για τα άλλα εννοείς μόνο τα βασικά ε? Δηλαδή κάρτες ήχου, κάρτες γραφικών και chipsets..

που να τα βαλω? στο κεφαλι μου? (Αsus A8V εδω)
υποτιθεται οτι το IDE παει για καταργηση και αυτοι δεν υποστηριζουν τους sata !!!

Win-DVD 5 – the installer warns that the application will not run on a 64-bit OS, and warns of not being able to install a file. The application will however function properly.

Desktop Configurations:

nForce 3-based configuration using MSI K8T Neo2-Platinum motherboard :
• No SATA driver disk needed for single SATA hard disk OS installation.
• When installing OS in a RAID configuration (must use driver floppy), during the first part of text-mode installation the Windows installer will report the following files missing-nvraid.cat & nvata.cat. These files can be skipped and the OS install will proceed normally.
• After installing the nForce chipset drivers and rebooting, the nForce ethernet controller and audio controller will show a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager. The solution is to manually re-install device drivers using Device Manager. Have the OS search, but uncheck the two boxes specifying the search location.

nForce 4 Ultra configuration using the DFI Lan Party UT Ultra-D motherboard:
• No SATA driver disk needed for single SATA hard disk OS installation.
• When installing OS in a RAID configuration (must use driver floppy), during the first part of text-mode installation the Windows installer will report the following files missing-nvraid.cat & nvata.cat. These files can be skipped and the OS install will proceed normally.
• After installation of Power DVD 6, you will be prompted to run the DMA test. This test will run and fail, but any DVD-ROM/DVD-RW will be running in DMA mode.
• Windows Media Player will not playback DVD video (does have audio) with an nVidia video card installed unless at least Win-DVD 5 is installed. Windows Media Player will not playback DVD video with an nVidia video card if only Power DVD 6 is installed.
• After installing the nForce chipset drivers and rebooting, the nForce ethernet controller and audio controller will show a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager. The solution is to manually re-install device drivers using Device Manager. Have the OS search, but uncheck the two boxes specifying the search location


nForce 4 configuration using the WinFast NF4K8MC-RS motherboard (u-ATX)
• No SATA driver disk needed for single SATA hard disk OS installation.
• When installing OS in a RAID configuration (must use driver floppy), during the first part of text-mode installation the Windows installer will report the following files missing-nvraid.cat & nvata.cat. These files can be skipped and the OS install will proceed normally.
• After installing the nForce chipset drivers and rebooting, the nForce ethernet controller and audio controller will show a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager. The solution is to manually re-install device drivers using Device Manager. Have the OS search, but uncheck the two boxes specifying the search location.

Via K8T800 configuration using the Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard:
• Cannot load OS using SATA. Must use SATA driver floppy for OS install to see hard disk. After going through text-mode and gui-mode install, and after the reboot the system will immediately BSOD. This happens with both the VIA SATA controller and the Promise 378 SATA controller.
• The OS can be loaded using an IDE drive. However, loading the Promise 378 SATA controller and attaching a SATA drive to it, the drive will not be seen in the OS. This appears to be a driver issue.

Via K8T890 configuration using the Asus A8V-E Deluxe motherboard:
• A SATA driver disk is needed to load the OS in single disk SATA mode. However, the ACPI/ATK10 driver is not installed and is not available from Asus at this time. The ACPI/ATK10 driver is properly loaded if an IDE drive is used for OS installation.
• There is no driver for the wireless LAN.


Intel 925XE configuration using the Asus P5AD2-E Premium motherboard:
• A SATA driver disk is not needed to load the OS in single disk SATA mode. However, the ACPI/ATK10 driver is not installed and is not available from Asus at this time. The ACPI/ATK10 driver is properly loaded if an IDE drive is used for OS installation.
• There is no driver for the wireless LAN.
• The Intel Matrix RAID function works properly.

Intel 915G configuration using the Intel D915GUXLK motherboard (u-ATX)
• A SATA driver disk is not needed to load the OS. This board has no RAID.
• The Intel GMA 900 video driver is native to the OS.
• After installing all drivers, there is am Unknown Device in Device Manager – Unknown Device on Intel 82801FB Interface Controller. This would have to do with the ICH6 SATA controller.
• Windows Media Player will not playback DVD video (does have audio) with an nVidia video card installed unless at least Win-DVD 5 is installed. Windows Media Player will not playback DVD video with an nVidia video card if only Power DVD 6 is installed.

Intel 915P configuration using the Intel D915PBLL system board:
• A SATA driver disk is not needed to load the OS in single disk SATA mode.
• Windows Media Player will not playback DVD video (does have audio) with an nVidia video card installed unless at least Win-DVD 5 is installed. Windows Media Player will not playback DVD video with an nVidia video card if only Power DVD 6 is installed.

Μου βγήκε η ψυχή να βρώ τους σωστούς drivers άλλα και πάλι δε μπόρεσαν τα windows να δούν τους σκληρούς με τα data οπότε back to winxp classic (32).

Ναι + disk controllers + NICs.

π.χ.

Ορίστε μερικά captures από τον Device Manager στα Windows XP Pro x64 SP-1 (RTM build 5.2.3790.1830).

Όπως βλέπετε όλοι οι κάθε είδους controllers (π.χ. chipset, disk, USB hubs κλπ.) έχουν σωστούς drivers (και επομένως και οι συσκευές που "κάθονται" επάνω τους).

Μόνο πρόβλημα τα 2 ερωτηματικά που είναι το video & audio κομμάτι της Hauppauge WinTV Theater PCI (Brooktree/Connexant BT879).

Περιμένω κάποιος καλός άνθρωπος να κάνει port τον πολύ καλό WDM btwincap driver στα x64.

Κατά τα άλλα, όλα είναι άψογα.



ΥΓ: Η motherboard είναι μία DFI LANParty nF4-SLI-DR.

k8t800 έχω
Κατάφερα να τα εγκαταστήσω σε raid πάνω στον controller της VIA, βρήκα τους σωστούς οδηγούς για το fasttrack και ενώ εγκατέστησε κανονικά τον controller στα 64μπιτα δεν κατάφερα να "δώ" τους σκληρούς που ήταν πάνω στο fasttrack (΄εναν sata και εναν ide)

πάντως άκουσα πως τα win64 είναι αργότερα σε 32μπιτες εφαρμογές γιατί δεν αναγνωρίζουν την άνεση που τους προσφέρεται.δεν νομίζω να υπάρχει πρόβλημα όμως με 32μπιτες.τα longhorn πράγματι θα αργήσουν
